Question:
Just reading the book now. Starting to organize the items that I need. I
have done detox diets with diet before. How is this diet working with
people having yeasty problems? If yes, what have you noticed. I do have
bacteria overgrowth as per my GI doc. I think it is more yeast. He gave me
an antibiotic. Naturally, I am worse now.
Answer:
I was taking Antibiotic for Rosacea when I started the diet. I had
gone from 200 mg to 100 mg before I began the diet. I stopped taking
the Antibiotic the day before I started the detox. I became very sick
from the detox pulling all the antibiotic into my system. This only
lasted for 3 days and then I was fine. I am no longer on the medicine
at all. My Rosacea is gone without the Antibiotics.
Dr Roni does advise talking to our Doctors about the meds we are
taking so you may want to do that first. I did not. Blurred vision
is a symtom that will happen when you come off the Antibiotics cold
turkey.
The diet will definately kill the yeast if you follow it exactly.
Don't drink any protein shake until the end of the 21 day because the
yeast will feed on the protein.
I don't have that problem--but I cut out flour from my diet a while
back and I think that really helps. I was on very strong presciption
allergy medicine because I was so congested that I could not function
and kept getting throat and ear infections. I stopped taking it from
day one of the detox and I have not had any congestion at all except
for a little bit on days three and four (I think a healing crisis),
but even then it was less than what I had WITH the medicine, so it
hardly seemed like a real crisis at all.
I would give you the following advice:
If you are nervous about stopping the antibiotics, then get all your
stuff ready now and start the day after your antibiotics are done. It
is best to start when you feel ready and to be determined to finish
it. I got my book in May and did not start the detox until July. I
spent that time mentally preparing myself and I think that really
helped me.
If you go off the antibiotics, then you might want to take herbal
supplements to help your good bacteria flourish while you detox. My
enzyme pills, "ZymeMax" by Advanced Naturals, was previously
prescribed by my doctor and has the following ingredients:
Plant Enzymes
Acidophilus
L-Glutamine
HCI
I think those ingredients include the same things found in yogurt that
are supposed to help prevent yeast infections. Maybe you could try an
enzyme pill like mine?
