Question:
What do you mean when you say it's
from the Middle Ages? Have you ever tried a detox diet? I ask because
you seem certain that it doesn't make a difference. Tell me more about
the genesis of your view.
Answer:
The whole idea of toxins came from before the middle ages when they didn't
know what the liver did or how the body works. In those days, they didn't
even know that the heart pumps blood. The whole detox thing is based on
assumptions that are now known to be false, like toxins from inside the
colon get into the body (not true -- the colon is made to hold the waste and
toxins inside the colon and not let them get into the body), that some diets
help toxins get out of the body through the liver, which is untrue (the
liver does it detoxification thing regardless of diet) and other unproven
beliefs.
