Question: why are regular doctor's typically not allowed to prescribe methadone to
help their patients detox? why can they not prescribe a 4 or 5 day regimine
of meth for detox? it's little more than 10 or 15 pills. i see that some
people take meth for pain and there are doctors that can prescribe it for
pain but not detox. i don't understand. your doctor should be able to do
that for you. i think the DEA wants to know who is getting meth and for
what reason and they have such strict rules about it's dispensation. can
anyone clue me in?
Answer: >why are regular doctor's typically not allowed to prescribe methadone to >help their patients detox?
In theory, any legit doctor should be able to prescribe 'done or other
C-2 narcotics at their discretrion. In practice, most docs are skittish
about scriopting the top-shelf drugs for even the best of reasons, due to
DEA scrutiny, fear of malpractice suits, et cedrin

Agreed, but not bloody likely for the time being {and in the USA for the
forseeable future}.
