Question:
I have been taking 80mg of methadone for a little over a year now,
and I am ready to detox. I've got my life straight, I'm away from all the
people I used to be associated with who did H, and most of all I'm tired of
all the side effects. Especially constipation, being a FATASS, and not
having any energy. When I tried to talk to my Dr. about it, he says it's too
early for me to detox, that I haven't been on his program long enough, and
he won't help me with a detox plan. I think he just doesn't want to lose my
money, the sorry bastard. Anyway, can someone help me? I need to know how
much I should start decreasing and then how often to decrease and what
amount. I also need to know how much to just walk away from. I know this is
alot to ask, but I didn't know where else to go for help. =/ Thanks for
your help.

Detox when you are at 80mg gives no sense.

Probably he is right.
What gives sense is to *taper* to 20 . It takes 2/3 mounth. Then,
if you still feel confident, the real detox starts .

5mg/week and you 'll have no problem ( some problems arise below 20mg,
more problem at 0mg).
Or: 1mg/1day till 30, then 1mg/2days till 20. That is 70days

At 5/10mg.
I can so relate on the constipation and the weight and I hardly eat anything
at all but then you are so slugged out you have to wait till a burst jumps
in your rear to do anything UGh
I detoxed Sooo many times off of the prog I too di the move and change
everything yadda yadda Had that False sense of security thinking cause I
moved 40 miles away I was OK LOL needless to say I am back on the program
again and have been on this time for 4 years and I do not plan on heading
anywhere at least not for a while
Honestly after detoxing off this stuff once or twice you would think we
would stay off LOL

I think the first plan is a tad quick as well NOT to say if you REALLY have
it in your head you can not do it and If you have a program that will work
with you and let you stop if it gets tough and will up you a little if it is
too tough
I did my last one on a program that was great and I had no problems till I
hit that darn 25 mark I would say 10 a month till you get to 40 then wait a
month or so see what happens then go 5 till you get to that blessed 25 mark
then lower it to like 2 mgs a week honestly The best thing to do is make
sure you take vitamins and eat right yea I know the meth though has ya
chasing sugar like it is dope.
My friend did a diet that was great and she lost weight and stayed at 40
mgs and is doping great. It is on the net I will ask for the food plan if
you want. It is not so much a diet but redoing how you eat cutting a few
things and stuff like that. Also getting out and walking when you get down
some and making yourself do it.
I have my issues due to the depression on top of the meth then the fatigue
from my Hep C so I am damned if I do damned if I do and damned if I don't
